Terrarium House

The Terrarium House was designed as a maker space for a glass blowing artist that is passionate about plants and makes terrariums. The house is connected to the adjacent maker space that make planted aquariums.

The idea behind this house is to mimic the concept of terrariums. It allows a constant visual exchange between the inside and the outside, not only to bring natural daylight, but also raise curiosity in passerby. The presence of glass walls and windows throughout the house is an insight to the practice of glass blowing, literally and figuratively. For instance, the staircase of the house is visible from the outside and contains a green wall that makes the space appear like a giant terrarium.
